Asphalt and Bitumen must have a sound and well compacted base to ensure a long lasting surface. Some of the cracks or pot holes that form in existing asphalt or bitumen may be due to an insufficient or deteriorating basecourse. The depth and make up of the base depends on what purpose the surface is to be used for. This means that light traffic areas can have a base of a lessor depth than that for areas that have heavy traffic or high volume traffic. Ron J Baker are able to undertake the site base preparation in conjunction with your Asphalt or Bitumen project, be it trimming your existing base course, or excavating and removing the current surface and replacing it with a base course suitable for your needs.
